I must say that you have given the best and the easiest solution. My regedit was disabled, I tried many ways but atlast when I tried your way it really worked.
The message you're
getting refernce a policy is set up.
- Start
- Run
- type: gpedit.msc
- User Configuration>Administrative Templates>System>Prevent access to registry tools -
- Disable if this is enabled.
