[Windows XP] Can't log-on to a Windows session

Solution

 

• It is possible to fix this via the registry by modifying the following key.
• Go to Start> Run
• To access it: type "regedit"
• Going in the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon.

• Simply create or edit the following string values:
  • DefaultDomainName: domain name or computer name by default
  • DefaultUserName: username default
  • DefaultPassword: password default
  • AutoAdminLogon: 1
